Finally scored my ideal power plant for the sub, and it was cheap too! $160 with a couple nicks sure beats paying $700 new. Now all I need to do is get the motivation to run a 4 gauge battery cable back there, and do some wiring. Looks like a 3 beer job.

It's sealed, but the space is a bit to small... a 12" in a 10" sealing, it didn't fit otherwise. We have small cars in here.
And there is a 750 watt amp attached to it. (http://www.snijders-qcs.nl/catalogus/product/twister-f2-300-iii) _________________

Good stuff.
I am having a hell of a time finding a clean place to run my 4ga. wire and mount the fuse in my engine compartment. I want it clean and factory looking so you don't even know it's been done, but I also want it to be serviceable and not to impede working under the hood.
The stupid fuse holders are gaudy as hell and made out of brittle plastic too... Leading to my number beef with car audio; most of the shit is all show and no go. It is as though everyone wants everyone else to immediately see that they have a "system" in their car by way of a beacon of bling.
Pisses me off. |

Got it factory looking myself. The only real visible thing is the radio, the rest is hidden. Like it that way, not a big scream to burglars.
A friend of my has a job in tuning cars (but also ambulances etc.) so he put my stereo in for free. _________________

"You don't understand... I aint afraid of you muthafuckas"
I cannot fathom needing any more than this in a passenger car. After playing around with settings for most of the night, I have it low-passed somewhere around 65hz @ 24db/octave with the input sensitivity (gain) on the amp as absolutely low as it will go and it's still bordering on being too much.
I still have a couple quirks to iron out in the form of finding a trigger source for my amp (blue looped wire in the pictures is doing this duty for tonight), cleaning up of visible wiring, and I *really* need to figure out a comfortable balance on the tone controls. It's not a one note wonder or boomy, but goddamn can that little fucker ever get boisterous.
